Daily Digest #33
Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God. —Acts 5:4
But there really are several degrees of honesty!!! Hehehe, it's almost the same as saying "there are some versions of the truth". We're so used to making excuses for ourselves, often forgetting that the effort is worthless because God hears and sees everything we say, think or do. We even have terms like "half-lie", "half-truth", etc. I was used to joking about all kinds of stuff. Other times, jokes had gotten me out of tight situations, just to save myself from ridicule. But no matter how good we get at lying, we know time will come that it will strike back at us. Pretty scary huh? We are constantly reminded by experiences of people around us, some even tragic, so we may learn and not commit the same mistakes in the future.
May we develop a clean conscience. May we ask for a clean heart. May we constantly pray that He may guide us in everything we think, say or do. Pray always.
