Good Advice

There comes a point in your life when you realize
who matters,
who never did,
who won't anymore...
and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past,
there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
Cherish the ones who stick with you through thick and thin
and remember the valuable lessons you learned from your relationships,
for they are all God's gift.

A GLORIOUS CHRISTMAS &
A BLESSED 2009 TO ALL!!!

Help Me Find René!!!

Hello readers and friends! I just created a new blog site to help me look for René. Click here: Help Me Find René!!!

Wish me luck!!! :D

Serendipity?

René and Joanne met on a bus from Koh Phangan to Bangkok on the 15th of April, 2008. Though both enjoying the perks of singlehood, the magic was right and the end of island-hopping/backpacking turned into something wonderful. They conversed for almost 6 straight hours -- on and off the bus. They talked about many, many things -- interests, travels, family, faith, friends, culture, future plans -- except their contact details. René was very much enthusiastic but Joanne wasn't sure if their encounter was a mere acquaintance, or meant to be a lifelong connection. Upon arriving at the unexpected bus stop, lost in trance, they headed towards opposite directions. Unknowingly, they decided to test fate by going separate ways and seeing if destiny could bring them back together...

Joanne, having known a few places René was planning to go to with his remaining 5 days in Bangkok, took the chance to look for him, hoping and praying that they could bump into each other once again -- from the crowded aisles of MBK to the vastness of Chatuchak Weekend Market. As a final resort, the thought of going to the airport tempted her, since she knew what day he was heading back to Germany. But going there, unaware of the time and airline, eventually discouraged her. From that day on, Joanne thought of other ways to reach him, and finally decided to take the journey through the internet. And so, this blog came into existence.

An announcement was posted in Mojo Spills 2 days after their encounter, with some of the details Joanne learned about René. She hopes that this could lead her to him in some way. So, dear friends, please...

Paging, Ren‚‚é L from Germany!!!

Okay, I just met an interesting person on our way to Bangkok from Koh Phangan and failed to say goodbye, or exchange business cards, after 6 hours of conversation. So right now, we know about each other's interests and history except for our complete names and contact details. Those who wish to offer a good slap, forget it, my best friend's done enough.

Some info....
Name: René L------nen (about 5 to 6 syllables all together)
Gender: Male
Nationality: German
Race: German-South African (dad is German, mom is South African)
Religion: Catholic
Age: 29 (turning 30, born October 1978)
Height: 5'10" or 5'10.5"
Hair: brown, long and curly
Eye Color: hazel, beautiful...
Skin Complexion: natural tan
Recent Whereabouts: Traveling around southeast Asia (Laos-Cambodia-Thailand) for 3 months, arrived in Bangkok 16th of April (yesterday) from Koh Phangan; going back to Germany on the 20th (Sunday)

I still have until Saturday to try my luck. He mentioned about going to the weekend market on Saturday to buy some shirts and stuff, and then leaving for Germany on Sunday. Should I miss that chance, I will be needing your help, readers from Germany (or readers with German friends), if there's any.... Kindly refer him to this blog, say Joanne is looking for him. Thanks!

Spill Gets Published

Yesterday, my friend was browsing through several Thai blogs in the internet, in search of holiday destinations, and found Thailand Voice by accident. I asked for the link and browsed through the pages myself. I found a lot of interesting entries about Thailand - vacation spots, culture and food - and other experiences of non-Thai people working or visiting in the country. As I perused, I thought about some entries I have written and wondered if maybe one of them might get published in the site. So I submitted Home Away From Home and Sangkhlaburi Getaway.

Then, when I went online earlier today, I found Home Away From Home published on the frontpage. It came to me as a surprise to find it there the next day, assuming the editors/web administrators would take a week or longer to read or even notice my entry.

So thank you, Thailand Voice, for getting my blogsite out in the open, though some entries are completely unrelated to Thailand. Hopefully, I get to roam around the country more and write my experiences in the blogs to come.
